Through the use of interviews with both professional athletes and their coaches, comparisons were made to the findings of past research of the items mentioned above. Though the participant numbers were small and the findings few, the thesis provides an excellent stepping stone to future research in this area. Findings included a greater seeking of efficacy building versus immediacy building behavior on behalf of the coach by the athlete.
